ZEG – Website rollout for over 200 specialist retailers
Phase 1:
Create a healthy code base and a stable, scalable server infrastructure
- Take over the code base
- Refactor and further develop Magnolia DXP
- Set up operating environment on Docker infrastructure
- Google Kubernetes migration, cloud hosting
Result: Thanks to the efforts of our specialists, performance was significantly improved. Overall, the availability of the websites was greatly stabilized.
Phase 2:
Rollout of specialist retailer websites
Creation of a scalable operating environment based on Magnolia DXP that can grow with the business and enable a large number of new websites.
Since January 2019, a total of over 200 specialist retailer websites have gone live, a steadily growing number of which already have a shop function, meaning that these specialist retailers can sell their products online in addition to in-store.
Phase 3:
Transformation from classic waterfall to agile project
In addition to the comprehensive technical overhaul, a methodological change to agile project management has taken place across all trades.
Dynamic product backlog instead of rigid specifications
By setting up a requirement board, ZEG can submit its requirements in the form of Jira tickets, which are then reviewed and estimated by the development team in refinement. The result is a living, clear product backlog, the contents of which can be reprioritized and supplemented by ZEG at each sprint planning meeting by the product owner.
